Inishbofin - Guided Walking Weekend

Inishbofin is 8 km off the coast of Galway and has approx 180 people living there. Its name means ‘Island of the White Cow’. There is evidence of early settlement on the island but it is hard to be sure from what period.

The island has a mixture of tourism, farming, fishing and it was also named an area of special conservation as there are Corncrake nesting on the island.

Its history covers early monastic settlement, Cromwell`s invasion of Ireland and the Jacobite war against William of Orange.

Our weekend will include two walks, great food and good craic.
